Successful examples of digital transformation are readily available here and now.

Slovenia is one of Europe's leading countries in the field of digitalisation. Successful stories have been recognised in all fields of business and public administration in health, education and welfare. Successful pioneers in digitalising the economy and public sector organisations encourage followers and developers of new, ever more innovative breakthrough ideas, to elevate Slovenian competitiveness.

Slovenia intends to become an internationally recognized reference country in the field of digitalisation for innovative individuals and businesses. In this way, linked by a single objective, all national stakeholders join in this unified strategy for development and digitalisation.

Discovering the achievements of Slovenian digitalisation

One of Digital Slovenia's fundamental objectives is to present those projects, activities, initiatives and best practices that confirm the functionality for digitalising the Slovenian economy and state. The cases featured will help the population, businesses and all other national stakeholders to (better) understand digital transformation that constitutes the fundamental strategy for Slovenia in creating a society of prosperity.

Where we are, and where are we going

Existing projects and their breakthrough successes testify to the importance of digitalisation awareness among the wide range of stakeholders in Slovenia.

The State Administration, under the auspices of the digitalisation strategy for Slovenia and the quantum leap in rapidly built e-Government services, ensure appropriate legal frameworks and infrastructure - from trust services to the state-based cloud and communications networks. Digitalisation is supporting the implementation of social welfare, the judiciary, inspectors, police, military among others.

In the field of Health, a wide range of applications for medical facilities and patients have been established, supporting a fully functional digitalised health system. Under the auspices of the e-Education project, teachers and administrators of educational institutions have developed their competences and accelerated the computerization for educational activities.

Fully digitalized businesses working with public administration and other public sector organizations provide the infrastructure for digital transactions between business and the legal frameworks for paperless operations. In establishing smart cities and communities, comprehensive links between the economy, public sector and educational institutions enable the move towards smart(er) society.
